
HEIDI LOUBSER
Dancer | Choreographer | Educator


Heidi Loubser is a Kansas City based dancer, choreographer, and educator. She began dancing in her hometown of Pretoria, South Africa, received her early training in Michigan, and earned a two year certificate from Störling's Artist Development Program (now Störling Conservatory of Dance) in Olathe, KS in 2019. Heidi enjoyed three seasons with Störling Dance Theatre before joining Anderson Dance Company (formerly Earthen Image Movement) as a founding member in 2023. Along the way she worked with The White Theatre, City in Motion, Chadash Contemporary Dance Movement, Maranatha Arts Collective, KC Contemporary Dance, Dramatic Truth Ballet Theatre, and independent choreographers such as Suzanne Ryan Strati, Talaessa Bice, and Daintry TenNapel. Heidi has also worked in the entertainment / film industry with JHS Pedals, Firelight Creative, Jingle!, and Enchant Christmas.
As a choreographer, Heidi has been commissioned to create work for her alma mater Störling Conservatory of Dance, Maranatha Arts Collective, and live music collaborations with Atonement Lutheran Church. She has also shared her work at independent platforms such as OKC Int'l Dance Festival, Brazos Contemporary Dance Festival, Project Dance, Detroit Dance Race, Ballet Edge Detroit, , and locally at Open Stage at the J, Dance in the Park, and National Dance Week KC. Additionally, she worked as the assistant choreographer for Firelight Creative's film Between Two Worlds. In 2025, Heidi premiered her first evening-length work, Prelude to Genesis 1, set to the poem of the same name by Bryant Russ. She looks forward to bringing it to more audiences in the coming years!
As an educator, Heidi has seven years of teaching experience in conservatories (The Culture House, Dramatic Truth School of the Arts), recreational / competitive studios (Miami County Dance Movement, Ovation Dance Academy, Sarah's Studio of Dance, Greenleaf Performing Arts Academy, YMCA), and in-school residencies (Take the Stage). She has also had the honor of sharing the joy of dance class in retirement homes with Vitality in Motion since 2021.
Over the years, Heidi has pursued continuing education as both a performer and educator, most recently studying with Ground Grooves (floorwork), Vim Vigor (floorwork and partnering), and the Limon Dance Company. Of the many, many artists that have shaped her, Heidi wants to express particular thanks to Hannah Anderson.
