Heidi Loubser is thrilled to be dancing with Earthen Image Movement, a new local modern / contemporary dance company in Kansas City under the direction of Hannah Anderson, for their debut season! She also teaches in 4 local studios and works with Vitality in Motion teaching in retirement homes.

Heidi began dancing in her hometown of Pretoria, South Africa, received her early training in southeast Michigan, and earned a certificate from Störling’s Artist Development Program (now accredited as Störling Conservatory of Dance) in Olathe, Kansas. She's attended intensives at Ballet Magnificat, Ad Deum Dance, Water Street Dance Festival, Ground Grooves, and on scholarship at Cleo Parker Robinson, Inlet Dance Theatre, Brighton Dance Festival, Detroit Dance City Festival, and Glenda Brown Choreo. Heidi danced one season with Störling Moves under the direction of Kathleen Schuler, including a six week tour through Germany. She danced three seasons with Störling Dance Theatre under the direction of Mona Störling-Enna, where she performed in full length productions Underground, Child of Hope, and Book of Kells as well as in diverse contemporary repertory.

 

Heidi's also freelanced, working with Chadash Contemporary Dance Movement (Beacon), Greenleaf Performing Arts (Emmanuel), Story Slinger Entertainment (JAMMED - KC Fringe Fest), Maranatha Arts Collective (Songs of Deliverance), City in Motion (ArtsKC conference), Firelight Creative (Between Two Worlds, Eden's Twilight), JHS Pedals (Pedals the Musical), and individual artists such as Talaessa Bice (At the Altar of Diana) and Christina Sears Etter (Demeter and Persephone). She's worked with choreographers such as Kim Holloway, Daintry TenNapel, Marc Wayne, Hanan Misko, Suzanne Ryan-Strati, Tiffany Best, Tobin James, Carolyn Dorfman, Rosie Herrera, Victoria Marks, Kelly Archer, Lauri Stallings, and Catherine Meredith.

When not performing or teaching, you can find Heidi choreographing. She’s presented her choreography in professional and outreach settings in Michigan, Kansas, and Texas. Heidi also worked as the assistant choreographer for Firelight Creative’s film Between Two Worlds. The highlight of her career so far was choreographing for Atonement Lutheran Church’s live presentation of Requiem for the Living with the University of Missouri - Kansas City, massed church choirs and chamber orchestra in 2022.
